Jakarta Govt Distributes Aid to Flood-Affected Residents

The Jakarta Provincial Government through Social Agency intensifies aid distribution to residents affected by flooding across the city.

"We are ensuring their basic ne eds are distributed evenly," 

Head of Jakarta Social Agency, Iqbal Akbarudin, stated that all available resources have been deployed to ensure that basic needs of flood victims are met.

According to him, the aid includes staple goods, bottled drinking waters, ready-to-eat meals, bedding and bathing necessities, clothing, and cleaning equipment.

Jakarta Prioritizes Flood Impact Mitigation Strategies

"More than 500 residents have been moved to designated evacuation sites. We are ensuring their basic needs, such as food, mattresses, blankets, and baby supplies, are distributed evenly," he explained, Tuesday (7/8).

In addition to logistic aid, his side also provided psychological services to children and elderly as part of post-disaster recovery process.

"We are working with Tagana and PSKB to offer psychosocial support. This is important to help residents cope with trauma," he mentioned.

Iqbal added that the Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to monitor field conditions and adjust the aid provided as needed.

"We urge residents to report any additional needs at local posts and follow directions from officers for everyone's safety," he said.
